“Wonder Woman” did not simply dominate the US weekend box office.

In earning an estimated $100.5 million, it also set the record for best opening weekend gross by a female-directed film.

The tally obliterates the previous record of $85.1 million, which was set by the Sam Taylor-Johnson-directed “Fifty Shades Of Grey.”

Patty Jenkins directed “Wonder Woman,” which stars Gal Gadot in the iconic title role.

Credited with $23.5 million in opening weekend receipts, “Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie” takes #2.

“Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” last weekend’s winner, takes #3 this week. It earned an estimated $21.6 million, bringing its cumulative gross to $114.6 million.

“Guardians Of The Galaxy, Vol. 2” falls two spots to #4 with $9.7 million (cume now $355.5 million), while “Baywatch” drops two places to #5 with $8.5 million (cume now $41.7 million).
