Future’s “DS2” Pacing for 125K+ Sales; Alan Jackson, Tame Impala Albums Fall

On track to move at least 125,000 copies in its first week of release, Future’s new “DS2” will easily win the July 17-23 album sales race.

According to Hits Daily Double, “DS2” is on pace to move between 125-135,000 pure copies this week. Enough for a convincing #1 debut, the total also obliterates industry forecasts.

Going into the week, analysts were only expecting a debut in the 60,000 range. That projection was upgraded to 75,000 based on the first few hours of the sales week, and it has since been upgraded again.

With Track Equivalent Albums (10 single sales = 1 album sale) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (1500 single streams = 1 album sale) included, “DS2” is expected to post a first week consumption total of 135-145,000 units. That will earn it the top spot on the Billboard 200.

Other notable new releases include Alan Jackson’s “Angels and Alcohol” (~38-43,000 sales | 40-45,000 total units) and Tame Impala’s “Currents” (~30-35,000 sales | 35-40,000 total units).
