Cody Johnson’s major label debut “Ain’t Nothin’ To It” is predictably on track to post solid opening week sales and consumption numbers.

Based on opening day data, Hits Daily Double expects the album to close the week with 24-27K in pure US sales. The inclusion of units from track sales and track streams should yield an opening week consumption tally in the 33-37K range.

“Ain’t Nothin’ To It” will not challenge for #1 on the Billboard 200 consumption chart (Future’s “The WIZRD” is expected to top that chart with upwards of 120K units), but it may have a shot at #1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart.

Its most obvious competition on the pure sales front will come from Maggie Rogers’ “Heard It In A Past Life,” which is due to sell 26-29K this week. The enduring “A Star Is Born” soundtrack may also post a sales total in excess of 20K.
