Justin Bieber’s “Purpose” Drove 424K US Track Sales, 41 Million US Streams Last Week

Justin Bieber’s “Purpose,” which held at #2 on the most recent Billboard 200, earned its position courtesy 124,204 weekly consumption units.

Nielsen Music attributes 54,372 of those units to pure US album sales. The remaining 69,832 units are credited to Track Equivalent Albums (track sales/10) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (track streams/1500).

“Purpose,” which was the week’s top performer in both categories, generated 42,392 TEA units (from 423,923 US track sales) and 27,440 SEA units (from 41,160,061 US streams).

Adele’s “25” generated the week’s next-greatest quantity of track sales (258,442), while Bryson Tiller’s “T R A P S O U L” was #2 in streams (21,019,224).
