Adele’s “25” Wins US Album Sales Race With 163.8K, Also Leads BB200; Rachel Platten’s “Wildfire” Top 5

Adele’s “25” leads Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart for a seventh straight week.

The album’s latest victory comes thanks to what Nielsen Music reports as 163,792 weekly US sales. The tally, which brings the album’s cume to 7.6 million, more than triples the runner-up’s weekly sales count.

Justin Bieber’s “Purpose,” that runner-up, sold 54,372 US copies during the January 1-7 tracking week.

With Track Equivalent Albums (track sales/10) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (track streams/1500) included, “25” generated 194,000 in total weekly consumption units. That count allows for a seventh straight stint atop the Billboard 200 chart.
