Five Finger Death Punch’s “Got Your Six” Wins Sales Race; Weeknd Tops BB200 (Updated)

Update: A sales total of 114,000 earns Five Finger Death Punch’s “Got Your Six” the #1 spot on this week’s Billboard Top Album Sales chart.

Not simply the week’s greatest total, it is also the greatest weekly sales figure ever posted by a FFDP album.

“Got Your Six” is the first Five Finger Death Punch album to win a weekly sales race. It does not, however, land atop the consumption-oriented Billboard 200. That honor instead belongs to The Weeknd’s “Beauty Behind The Madness,” which rules for a second straight week.

While it only sold 77,000 copies this week, it enjoyed a considerably greater boost from Track Equivalent Albums (10 single sales = 1 album equivalent unit) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (1500 single streams = 1 album equivalent unit). With TEA and SEA included, “Beauty” posted a first-week consumption total of 145,000. “Got Your Six” follows with 119,000.

The Top 10 of this week’s Billboard 200 follows:

1) The Weeknd – Beauty Behind the Madness – 145K units (77K from pure sales)
2) Five Finger Death Punch – Got Your Six – 119K units (114K from pure sales)
3) Travi$ Scott – Rodeo – 85K units (70K from pure sales)

10) Future – DS2 – 25K total units
===============

Powered by a first week total in excess of 100,000, Five Finger Death Punch’s “Got Your Six” won the latest album sales race.

It will not, however, land atop the consumption-oriented Billboard 200.

According to Hits Daily Double, “Got Your Six” moved approximately 108,706 pure copies during the September 4-10 tracking week.

Billboard’s more authoritative data will differ slightly, but the disparity will not change the overall conclusion: “Got Your Six” was the week’s best-selling album and will debut at #1 on Top Album Sales.

It is the first FFDP album to win a weekly sales race.

The Weeknd’s “Beauty Behind the Madness,” which won last week’s race, will slip to #2 on Top Album Sales. Per Hits, it shifted approximately 80,227 pure copies.

Thanks to significant boosts from Track Equivalent Albums (10 single sales = 1 album equivalent unit) and Streaming Equivalent Albums (1500 single streams = 1 album equivalent unit), “Beauty” nonetheless ended up with a greater weekly consumption total than “Got Your Six.” Hits pegs The Weeknd’s unit count at 142,392. “Got Your Six” shifted approximately 114,111 album equivalent units.

As a result, “Beauty Behind the Madness” will score a second week atop the Billboard 200.

Other top pure sales performers: Travi$ Scott’s “Rodeo” (~74,941 sales), Iron Maiden’s “Book Of Souls” (~68,412), Troye Sivan’s “WILD” EP (~45,963).

Other top consumption performers: “Rodeo” (~90,940 total units), “Book Of Souls” (~69,144 total units), “WILD” EP (~51,659 total units).
