Adele’s Albums Crossed 14 Million US Sales Mark Last Week

When the August 21-27 tracking week concluded, Adele’s two studio albums boasted a combined US sales total in excess of 14 million.

According to Nielsen Music, Adele’s 2011 release “21” moved 2,000 copies during the aforementioned tracking week. Her 2008 debut sold 1,000.

The additional 3,000 in weekly sales brought the combined total past the 14 million mark.

“21,” which is certified 11x platinum in the US, is responsible for approximately 11.17 million of those sales. It ranks as the 10th-best-selling era of the SoundScan era (beginning 1991) and thus far the best-selling album of the 2010s decade.
