A sign that pre-order interest overstated the market demand, 5 Seconds of Summer’s “She Looks So Perfect” EP is no longer expected to reach an opening week sales mark of 200,000.
It will, however, convincingly reign as the week’s top newcomer. And if the latest round of estimates hold, it should also reign as the week’s top-selling album, period.
According to Hits Daily Double, the latest forecast calls for an opening week tally in the 150-160,000 range. Immensely impressive for a four-song EP from a band that just recently began garnering US radio and video play, the total should be enough to finally knock the “Frozen” soundtrack off the throne.
Other notable new releases include Christina Perri’s “Head or Heart” and Chevelle’s “La Gargola,” both of which are expected to move 40-45,000.
Dan + Shay’s “Where it All Began” should follow with 27-30,000, while Nickel Creek’s “A Dotted Line” is a safe bet for 17-20,000. The latter forecast is also in play for The Used’s “Imaginary Enemy.”
Manchester Orchestra’s “Cope” should debut to the tune of 15-18,000, while Chiodos’ “Devil” and MKTO’s “MKTO” will follow with 14-17,000 and 10-12,000, respectively.
