Sales estimates at this stage of the game–less than 15 hours after the album’s release–are very subject to change.
Aloe Blacc’s “Lift Your Spirit,” for instance, did not even sell 75% of last week’s originally projected tally.
But insofar as they will at least have rough merit, they suggest a weekly debut count in the 55-65,000 neighborhood for Foster the People’s “Supermodel.”
That is the estimate from Hits Daily Double, which forecasts that “Supermodel” will reign as the week’s strongest debut. It will not, however, usurp the overall throne from “Frozen,” which is pacing to have another monster week.
If the estimate holds, “Supermodel” will significantly top the 33,000 mark set by Foster’s predecessor “Torches.”
Other early projections include 45-55,000 for YG’s “My Krazy Life,” 45-55,000 for Skrillex’s “Recess” and 30-35,000 for The Pretty Reckless’ “Going to Hell” (up from 12,000 for “Light Me Up”).
