Though Keith Urban’s “Fuse” is moving off the shelves at a slower pace than predecessor “Get Closer,” it will debut at a higher mark on the Billboard 200 album sales chart.
Based on opening day sales, Billboard forecasts a debut week in the 100-110,000 territory. Likely enough for a debut at the peak of the charts, it represents a steep decline from the 162,000 opening frame figure posted by Urban’s 2010 album.
If it holds at number one, “Fuse” would mark Urban’s second career number one. His 2009 release “Defying Gravity” also reached the chart’s apex.
At press time, The Weeknd’s “Kiss Land,” on track for 90-100,000 opening week sales, provided the Urban album’s most notable competition.
Other Billboard forecasts include 55,000 for 2 Chainz’ “B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time,” 50,000 for Janelle Monae’s “The Electric Lady,” 35,000 for Arctic Monkeys’ “AM” and 30,000 for Sheryl Crow’s “Feels Like Home.”
