Although neither will rule the overall US album consumption chart, Tyler Childer’s “Country Squire” and the “Descendants 3” soundtrack both have a shot at #1 for pure sales.
According to Hits Daily Double, the two albums are each tracking for 21-24K in pure US sales this week. As things currently stand, no other album is on track to break the 20K mark. Drake’s “Care Package” and TOOL’s “Ænima,” the next-strongest performers, are on track to shift 15-18K pure copies.
Powered by larger interest in the individual tracks, Drake’s “Care Package” will nonetheless post a much stronger consumption figure. With units from track sales and streams included, the album may generate 115-125K in first-week consumption. It is a safe bet for #1 on the overall US album chart.
Each pacing for 28-32K in total units, “Country Squire” and “Descendants 3” may land in the #7-13 range on this week’s overall chart.
