Jonas Brothers’ “Happiness Begins” begins its run at #1 on the US album sales and consumption charts.
According to Hits Daily Double, the album sold about 351.5K pure US copies during its first week of release. With units from track sales and streams included, it generated over 405K in first-week consumption units. Not simply the best of the week, the numbers are the best posted in 2019.
In addition to the enthusiasm one would have expected for the first Jonas Brothers album in ten years, “Happiness Begins” benefited from substantial album redemption bundles.
Due Sunday, Billboard’s data may differ slightly from that reported by Hits (especially if Billboard chooses to count the bundles differently). The discrepancies will not, however, remotely jeopardize the album’s #1 debut.
After all, Hits is reporting that “Happiness Begins” opened with nearly 7x more pure sales and units than any other album this week.
