On the heels of the Oscars ceremony, Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper’s “A Star Is Born” soundtrack will enjoy a big gain in weekly US album sales and consumption.

According to Hits Daily Double, “A Star Is Born” is on track to sell 60-65K pure US copies this week. With the inclusion of units from track sales and streams, it may generate 90-100K in total consumption.

The figures double last week’s numbers (27K in pure sales, 47K in consumption per Hits and BuzzAngle).

The pure sales tally, moreover, should be enough to restore “A Star Is Born” to #1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart.

Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” may, however, retain #1 on the Billboard 200. Hits currently has the album pacing for 105-115K in total consumption (with 12-15K coming from sales). If both albums remain on their current trajectories, “thank u, next” will score a third week at #1.
