Report: Taylor Swift’s “Reputation” Is Already 2017’s Best-Selling Album In US

“Reputation” had a massive first weekend in the United States.

Based on a new report from Billboard, Taylor Swift’s “reputation” needed just a few days to dethrone Ed Sheeran’s “Divide” as 2017’s best-selling album in the United States.

“Divide” has sold about 920K albums in the US since its release in early March.  According to Billboard, “reputation” had surpassed that total by the end of its third day in the market.

The figure essentially ensures “reputation” will sell over 1 million copies this week.

Insofar as about 717K of its sales came by the end of day one, “reputation” has obviously been rather front-loaded — perhaps a bit more so than many were expecting.

It is still on track for a mammoth opening week total, and analysts are not yet ruling out the possibility that it will top the 1.287 million mark posted by Swift’s previous album “1989.”
