With a total that nearly triples that of its nearest competitor, Kendrick Lamar’s “untitled unmastered” easily takes the top spot in the weekly US album sales race.
According to Hits Daily Double, Lamar’s album sold approximately 135,484 US copies during the March 4-10 tracking week. The tally positions comfortably above Adele’s “25,” which takes the #2 slot on the strength of ~48,009 weekly sales.
While Billboard’s final data will differ from the Hits figure, the discrepancy will not at all change the overall outcome: “untitled unmastered” will easily be #1 on Top Album Sales.
“Untitled unmastered” will also lead the weekly Billboard 200, which ranks albums based on collective activity from pure sales, track equivalent albums (track sales/10) and streaming equivalent albums (track streams/1500).
