When the sales data for the July 17-23 tracking week first emerged, it listed Alan Jackson’s “Angels and Alcohol” as the week’s best-selling country album. Jason Isbell’s “Something More Than Free” was slotted at #2.
Nielsen Music revised its weekly sales data Monday evening. The revision thrust “Something More Than Free” into the #1 slot on the Top Country Albums chart.
Per Billboard’s weekly Country Update newsletter, “Something More Than Free” grabs #1 on the strength of approximately 46,000 first week sales. While the rounded total for Jackson’s album is also 46,000, Billboard clarifies that it sold a few hundred fewer copies. It ends up claiming the #2 spot on Top Country Albums.
Nielsen’s original report credited “Angels and Alcohol” with 45,361 sales. The initially-reported “Something More Than Free” total was 39,775.
