Thanks to a drastically reduced profile and little momentum from lead single “Waiting for Superman,” Daughtry’s new album “Baptized” is performing at a career low.
According to Hits Daily Double, the latest from the mainstream rock band is pacing for a debut week sales total of 55-60,000.
Down significantly from the 129,000 opener for 2011’s “Break the Spell,” which was itself down significantly from predecessors “Leave this Town” and “Daughtry,” the projected total will not even be enough to give the band the week’s top debut.
That honor instead looks like it will go to Five Finger Death Punch. The act’s “The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell, Volume 2” should move 75-80,000.
The soundtrack to “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” will follow with 60-65,000, while Yo Gotti’s “I Am” will start short of “Baptized” in the 40-45,000 range.
Eminem’s “The Marshall Mathers LP 2” is expected to return to the top of the album sales chart.
