Far from a blockbuster, “Ender’s Game” will nonetheless claim victory at the weekend box office.
Predictably modest, the film’s $9.9 million Friday haul was still enough to give “Ender’s” the lead and position it for a certain weekend box office victory.
“Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa,” last week’s winner, claimed second Friday with $6.1 million in receipts.
“Last Vegas” and “Free Birds,” both new releases, followed with $5.1 million and $4 million, respectively.
Holdover “Gravity” completed the top five with an additional $3.6 million in receipts Friday.
