Riding the wave of “Come and Get It,” the biggest single of her career, Selena Gomez’ “Stars Dance” is pacing for a number one debut on the Billboard 200.
Based on opening day sales, Billboard projects the album will move 90-100,000 copies in its inaugural week, which would also represent the biggest sales frame of her career. “When the Sun Goes Down,” her previous album and last released with billing to backing band The Scene, moved 78,000 units in 2011.
In advancing to number one, the Gomez album would seize the throne from Jay-Z’s “Magna Carta … Holy Grail,” which has reigned atop the chart for two consecutive weeks.
