After securing Marcus Camby for its frontcourt earlier in the day, Houston traded one of its reserve big men over to Los Angeles for Derek Fisher.
Fisher, whose resume includes more than ten years with the Lakers, will move to Houston in exchange for Jordan Hill. Los Angeles is also sending over a first-round draft pick (via Dallas).
Derek Fisher was still operating as the Lakers’ starting point guard this season, although his role was fading and being shared with Steve Blake. With Ramon Sessions now sporting the yellow-and-purple, there was little value in holding onto the veteran.
