Happy “Modern Family” Marriage, Actor Wins Comedy Emmy

It was a happy night for the Dunphy household–supporting actress winner Julie Bowen’s “Modern Family” husband Ty Burrell took home the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a comedy.

Burell was nominated against his three adult male co-stars–Ed O’Neill, Eric Stonestreet and Jesse Tyler Ferguson–along with Chris Colfer (“Glee”) and Jon Cryer (“Two and a Half Men”).

Last year, he gave up the prize to the hilarious Stonestreet, but his convincing turn as the show’s key husband stood out for season two.

And so “Modern Family” swept the supporting actor category. Does this hint at a second straight win for outstanding comedy?
