Update: As Friday morning has progressed, one thing has remained the same: Taylor Swift’s “Lover” is the best-selling album on the US iTunes store.
The artist’s seventh studio album, a lock to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200, remains #1 on the store’s all-genre sales chart.
What has changed, however, is the makeup of the Top 5. As of press time at 8:30AM ET, that region of the chart exclusively includes new releases:
2) Midland – Let It Roll
3) Missy Elliott – Iconology EP
4) Jeezy – TM104: The Legend Of The Snowman
5) Andy Mineo – Work In Progress

In the epitome of an unsurprising development, Taylor Swift’s “Lover” is resonating with music buyers.
The album, which launched at 12AM ET Friday morning, quickly rocketed to #1 on the US iTunes sales chart. It remains in the pinnacle position as of press time at 12:30AM ET.
“Lover” is thus far the only new release in the chart’s Top 5.
The album marks Swift’s seventh full-length studio LP — and first since leaving Big Machine Records. It is a virtual lock to post the best opening week sales and consumption numbers thus far in 2019. Keep checking Headline Planet for more details on its opening week sales performance.
