Little Big Town’s “Pain Killer” Certified Gold In The United States

Little Big Town’s 2014 album “Pain Killer,” which has produced two RIAA-certified singles, has earned a certification of its own.

While not yet confirmed on the RIAA’s official website, word has emerged that the album is certified gold in the United States.

Billboard first reported the certification, which confirms a US unit total of at least 500,000. Under the revised methodology, one unit is equal to 1 album sale, 10 track sales or 1500 track streams.

“Pain Killer” nearly reaches the certification threshold with album sales alone; sources say it has sold roughly 450K release-to-date US copies.

The album includes the double-platinum “Girl Crush” (which was also 2015’s best-selling country single) and the gold-certified “Day Drinking.”
