The Weeknd’s “Beauty Behind the Madness” and Halsey’s “Badlands,” which formally launched late Thursday night, predictably claim the top spots on the US iTunes Album Sales chart.
And while performance on iTunes does not always reflect how an album will perform on the overall sales chart, it is respected to represent a proper barometer this week. “Beauty” is expected to easily lead the Billboard Top Album Sales (and Billboard 200) chart, while “Badlands” is projected to launch at #2.
The next two spots on the iTunes sales chart are presently occupied by albums in the pre-order phase. The pre-order for 5 Seconds of Summer’s “Sounds Good Feels Good,” which has been a staple of the chart’s upper region since launching, is currently #3 on the listing. Demi Lovato’s “Confident,” which just last night became available for pre-order purchase, is #4.
Ben Rector’s brand new “Brand New” claims the #5 spot.
Disturbed “Immortalized” (which was last week’s best-selling album) (#6), Dr. Dre.’s “Compton” (#7), Luke Bryan’s “Kill the Lights” (#8), Alessia Cara’s “Four Pink Walls” EP (#9), and Marty’s “Marty for President” EP pre-order (#10) also hold TOp 10 positoins.
