Jack Johnson, Justin Moore Lead Album Sales Race

In one of the tightest sales races of the year, Keith Urban this past week defeated The Weeknd by a margin of 3,000 to claim number one on the Billboard 200 Album Sales chart.

Prepare for another nailbiter.

Based on opening day sales, Billboard forecasts the battle between Jack Johnson’s new “From Here to Now to You” and Justin Moore’s “Off the Beaten Path” will come down to the wire.

Johnson’s album is currently moving at a slightly faster pace–its weekly forecast is 110-115,000 compared to 110,000 for the Moore release–but it could easily lose that advantage by the week’s end.

Other releases this week include Chris Young’s “AM” (forecast for 50,000), Maybach Music Group’s “Self Made, Volume 3” (forecast for 50,000), Avicii’s “True” (forecast for 45,000) and Billy Currington’s “We are Tonight” (forecast for 30,000).
