WWE RAW Ratings Improve, But Perform Oddly Monday Night

Even with monstrous competition from the “Two and a Half Men” premiere, Monday Night Football and the return of “Dancing with the Stars,” the Monday Night RAW rating managed to improve, representing very good news for the company.

The 3.0 cable coverage rating (with a 1.6 in the adults 18-49 demo and 4.3 million viewers) is, in and of itself, nothing special, but given how stiff the competition was and the downward trend WWE appeared to be facing, the upward reversal is a good sign.

Notably, it suggests there was interest in the fallout from Night of Champions, which included both major championships changing hands and Triple H defeating CM Punk after an array of outside interference.

Interesting, however, is how the show trended over the two hours. Even though it faced far more competition in the 9PM hour (hour two of “Dancing” and the massively-rated premieres of “Men” and new series “2 Broke Girls”), its viewership was slightly better for that portion. More than ever, that would suggest fans were not captivated by what they saw over the course of the show.
