Despite indications that the series premiere of “Harry’s Law” underperformed in the adults 18-49 demo, the overnight metered market ratings reveal some favorable news for NBC’s Kathy Bates vehicle.
(Fast national ratings, featuring the adults 18-49 performance, are now available at Headline Planet)
“Law,” David E. Kelley’s latest legal series, posted a very solid 7.5 overnight rating in its Monday debut. Although that rating likely has little connection to the adults 18-49 number (due to the old-skewing nature of the show), it definitely points to impressive viewership in a Monday at 10PM timeslot that has been difficult for NBC.
More importantly, it reveals significant growth out of 9PM series “The Cape,” which made its regular time period premiere Monday. The superhero drama only mustered a 4.0 overnight rating, barely building out of the always-underwhelming “Chuck” (3.8).
The show also managed to make NBC competitive in the timeslot. ABC’s aired a re-run of “Castle” that had minimal viewership, while CBS’ heavily-hyped “Hawaii 5-0” was only good for a 7.4 rating.
Absolutely the “worst” new show I have ever “almost” watched. The storyline of the poor druggie, and the – Rush Limbough – reference made me change the channel! Sorry to see a great actress like Kathy Bates tied in to this loser!
Harry’s Law rocks. Kathy Bates is hilarious. She steals every scene she is in. I cannot wait for the next episode!
Finally a show to watch and enjoy and laugh. Loved Harry’s Law. I too can not wait for the next episode. A Must See TV. Kathy Bates is so darn funny and all the cast memebers really Jell(? sp) together!
I, too, loved Harry’s Law and cannot wait for the next episode. Kathy Bates was awesome and so were the others. As for the script, it’s David E. Kelley, who is one of the smartest tv writers around…on network tv.
Saw Harry’s Law last night and loved it. Very fun with just enough heart. Those are big numbers, especially given that it nearly doubled its lead-in. More Harry’s Law please!
liberal nonsense.
Great show, a must see show. Keep it on.
The first ten minutes of Harry’s Law was hilarious. I had high hopes for this show. But alas the following episodes are such a dissapointment. The cases they come up with are far left liberal. The two worst being the lady that sues fast food companies for making her fat and representing the Chinese business who fired a woman for violating the “one child” rule.
