Luke Bryan’s “Kill the Lights” Projected for 350-400K Sales; 300K+ for “Compton”

Luke Bryan | UMG Nashville

Luke Bryan’s “Kill the Lights” will not be nearly as big as predecessor “Crash My Party,” it is still pacing for an impressive opening week total.

That impressive total may give it the edge over another high-profile blockbuster.

Per Hits Daily Double, industry analysts say “Kill the Lights” will move 350-400,000 pure copies during its inaugural week of release (August 7-13). The aforementioned “Crash My Party” sold 528,000 copies in its inaugural frame.

The superstar, Dr. Dre-led “Compton” soundtrack will, however, put up a fight. Early trending shows it could move 300-350,000 copies in its first week.

And insofar as it will have a movie — and ample media attention — to spur buzz, it could certainly end up challenging “Kill the Lights” for #1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart.
