Miranda Lambert’s “Platinum” Album Sales Pacing for 130-150K

In possession of a chance to deliver the best opening week sales figure of Miranda Lambert’s career, new album “Platinum” is tracking for a bow in the 130-150,000 range.

The projection, which is rooted in Hits Daily Double’s extension of opening day sales, suggests the album is selling at roughly the same pace as Lambert’s 2011 predecessor. That album, the best seller of her career, opened to the tune of 133,000.

What does appear certain is that “Platinum” will rank as the week’s best-selling album. Easily the strongest new releases–neither the original cuts from 50 Cent and Lucy Hale nor the re-releases from Led Zeppelin are expected to cross the 40K mark–it will also experience no difficulty dethroning Coldplay’s holdover champ “Ghost Stories.”
