In response to sudden news that Shane McMahon confirmed plans to resign from his executive role within WWE, Mike Witt, a production assistant who once worked under Stephanie McMahon, sent the wrestling media a perspective on the situation. According to F4WOnline.com, that perspective has been heavily ripped by numerous past WWE employees and insiders.
Witt categorized Stephanie as the more down-to-earth and respectful of the two, claiming Shane had a “chip on his shoulder.” He said that while Vince did work more directly with Stephanie, it was simply a consequence of the fact that she was more interested in creative–“had Shane shown any interest in creative, or had some solid input, there’s not a doubt in my mind that Shane would have been running creative,” wrote Witt.
He further labeled Shane as “overbearing,” noting he was a “salesman through and through” and wanted to simultaneously be “one of the boys” and let everyone know he was his father’s son.
The F4WOnline.com report says that numerous insiders dismissed the Witt analysis as incorrect. One said his opinion would be the exact opposite, several others disagreed, and only one was willing to accept the Witt side of the story.
