Billboard just released its weekly Artist 100 chart, which ranks America’s top artists based on data for factors like album and song sales, streams and social media activity.
Like she did on last week’s chart, Cardi B occupies the #5 position.
As was the case with last week’s chart, Cardi B ranks as the top female solo artist. She only trails three solo male artists (Post Malone at #1, Drake at #2 and Childish Gambino at #3) and a male band (Imagine Dragons at #4).
This is Cardi B’s sixth consecutive week as the top-ranking female.
Camila Cabello, who occupies #13 on the overall chart, is the second-highest-ranking female solo artist. Dua Lipa, the #19 overall artist, is #3 among solo females.
Other high-ranking female solo artists include Taylor Swift (#4 female, #20 overall), Ariana Grande (#5 female, #25 overall), Nicki Minaj (#6 female, #26 overall), Halsey (#7 female, #35 overall), SZA (#8 female, #37 overall), P!nk (#9 female, #39 overall), and Bebe Rexha (#10 female, #42 overall).
— The “female solo artist” distinction is necessary in this case; Lake Street Dive, which includes female members, is #17 on the overall chart.
