Update: Thursday’s “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” featured a conventional, on-stage musical performance from Lorde.
It also featured a special, pre-produced musical segment.
Lil Yachty and The Roots collaborated on a “The Simpsons” rap entitled “Lil Yachty Raps About 59 Simpsons Characters.” The comedic segment aired early in Thursday’s episode.

Lorde is the headline musical guest on Thursday’s “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
Her performance is not, however, the only musical moment on the episode.
Thursday’s “Tonight Show” also features a pre-produced “Simpsons Rap” segment.
The bit features Fallon, members of in-house band The Roots, and rising hip-hop star Lil Yachty.
Featuring “Simpsons Rap,” Lorde’s interview and performance and interviews with Ethan Hawke and “mustache experts” Russell Cordeiro and Allan Peterkin, Thursday’s “Tonight Show” airs at 11:35PM ET/PT on NBC.
