As part of a website feature, the AllAccess trade publication regularly asks radio stations to identify “hot picks” — songs they feel have the potential to become hits.
Four pop stations recently awarded a “hot pick” label to Sabrina Carpenter’s “Thumbs.”
The song, which appears on Carpenter’s recently released album “EVOLution,” received the “hot pick” distinction from Dallas’ 103.7 KVIL, Greensboro’s 100.3 KISS, Charlotte’s Kiss 95.1 and 97.3 NOW in Milwaukee.
While the support is encouraging, it should be noted that Hollywood Records has not yet announced plans to send “Thumbs” for pop radio adds. Radio Disney, moreover, has recently been playing “Space,” a different song from Carpenter’s album.
“Thumbs” was co-written by Priscilla Renea and Steve Mac and produced by the latter.
