Just like Fifth Harmony’s “Work From Home,” Meghan Trainor’s”NO,” and Ariana Grande’s “Dangerous Woman,” Nick Jonas’ “Close (featuring Tove Lo)” entered the market with promotional launch day support from the iHeartMedia network and early enthusiasm from many non-iHeart pop stations.
Just as it did for the 5H, Trainor, and Grande songs during their respective impact weeks, the potent combination earns “Close” the top spot on this week’s pop radio add board.
“Close” received adds from 126 Mediabase-monitoerd stations in conjunction with this week’s official impact. The count more than triples that of pop radio’s next-most added song.
Iggy Azalea’s “Team,” that song, received adds from 40 stations this week.
The Chainsmokers’ “Don’t Let Me Down (featuring Daya)” follows with 28 adds, while Daya’s own “Sit Still, Look Pretty” is fourth with 23 adds. Picked up by 22 stations, Demi Lovato’s “Stone Cold” takes fifth place on the weekly add board.
This week’s other notable pop options: Snakehips’ “All My Friends (featuring Tinashe & Chance The Rapper)” (16 adds, 6th), Ruth B’s “Lost Boy” (14 adds, 7th), Grace’s “You Don’t Own Me (featuring G-Eazy)” (13 adds, 8th, tie), Melanie Martinez’ “Pity Party” (13 adds, 8th, tie), and Flume’s “Never Be Like You (featuring Kai)” (11 adds, 10th).
