Rihanna Confirms “Kiss It Better,” “Needed Me” As Next Radio Singles

Those wondering which “ANTI” track would serve as the follow-up to Rihanna’s “Work (featuring Drake)” just received two answers.

The artist confirmed that both “Kiss It Better” and “Needed Me” would be serviced to radio at 7AM ET Wednesday morning — nine weeks (exactly to the day, almost to the hour) after “Work” first debuted at radio.

While the idea of a dual-single promotion may be surprising, neither specific selection should elicit raised eyebrows. “Kiss It Better” has been widely regarded as both a fan favorite and commercially accessible song, while “Needed Me” has been the best performing album track, as evidenced by its continued presence on the Billboard Hot 100.

Def Jam has yet to provide additional details regarding the push, including insight into format designation.

The two tracks enter the market with lofty shoes to fill; “Work” has spent the past four weeks atop the Mediabase rhythmic and urban airplay charts. It is inside the Top 10 at pop and Top 50 at hot adult contemporary.
