Hot 100: Mariah Carey’s “AIWFCIY,” Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around” Rise This Week

Two Christmas classics — one from 1994 and one from 1958 — make impressive jumps on this week’s Billboard Hot 100.

Up seven places, Mariah Carey’s 1994 release “All I Want For Christmas Is You” takes #11 on this week’s chart. The position represents a new peak for the beloved Christmas tune.

Nearly sixty years old, Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” also rises on the Hot 100, which ranks the week’s hottest songs based on combined activity from sales, streaming, and airplay. Lee’s 1958 classic jumps eight places to #30.

Unlike the Carey song, “Rockin'” does not reach a new peak this week. Posted on the December 31, 1960 edition of the chart, the song’s high mark is #14.
