Jess Glynne’s “Hold My Hand,” Daya’s “Hide Away” Earn Gold Certifications

On December 14, 2015, one female pop artist earned her first RIAA certification as a lead artist.

Another earned her first RIAA certification, period.

Jess Glynne, the former, scored a gold certification for her “Hold My Hand.” Under the terms of the RIAA’s digital single program, the gold certification confirms a US unit total of at least 500,000. One unit is equal to 1 paid download or 100 streams.

Glynne also appears as a featured artist Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be,” which had been certified up to 2x platinum as of January 2015.

Daya, meanwhile, scores her first career certification for “Hide Away.” The teen artist’s breakthrough hit also received a gold digital single distinction on December 14.
