Golden Globes: “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” “Boyhood” Win for Best Picture

Awards season is officially underway, and two films just received enormous boosts of momentum.

“The Grand Budapest Hotel” and “Boyhood” were just named the Golden Globe winners for best musical or comedy motion picture and best drama motion picture, respectively.

While there is no guarantee that either will be named the Academy Award winner for best picture later this season, the films will continue to occupy prominent places on the radar.

Other films nominated for best musical or comedy included “Birdman,” “St. Vincent,” “Into the Woods” and “Pride.” Other dramatic contenders were “Foxcatcher,” “Selma,” “The Imitation Game” and “The Theory of Everything.”
