This week’s edition of “Scandal” took a slight hit in the overnight household ratings. This week’s “How to Get Away with Murder” enjoyed a slight boost in the overnights.
The results? ABC’s 9PM and 10PM dramas tied in the overnight metered market ratings race.
While there is no guarantee the same will be true of their adults 18-49 numbers, there is no denying that the two series connected with approximately the same number of households Thursday. Both shows delivered 7.4 overnight household ratings.
Last week, “Scandal” delivered a 7.7 overnight household rating, a 2.9 adults 18-49 rating and a viewership average of 9.90 million. “HTGAWM” drew a 7.2 overnight household rating, a 2.8 adults 18-49 rating and a viewership average of 9.79 million.
Higher-profile than last week’s game, this week’s CBS Thursday Night Football showdown between the Denver Broncos and San Diego Chargers will claim an even more dominant ratings victory over ABC’s dramas. As far as the overnights go, “Scandal” and “HTGAWM” do, however, tie as the night’s top-rated non-sports programs.
Earlier in the night, ABC offered “Grey’s Anatomy” (6.7 overnight household rating).
