That it became a news story on a fairly slow weekend was unsurprising.
That it is still a hot topic in entertainment circles is very surprising.
That, of course, being the kiss between Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry that took place during the former’s “Bangerz” concert.
Earlier this week, Perry addressed the kiss on the Australian talk show “Sunrise,” noting, “I just walked up to her to give her like a friendly girly kiss, you know, as girls do.”
According to Perry, Miley, however, had other plans.
“Then she like tried to move her head and go deeper and I pulled away,” explained Perry.
Why did the woman famous for her tale of kissing a girl–and liking it–pull away?
“God knows where that tongue has been…We don’t know! That tongue is so infamous!”
While presented in jest, it is certainly plausible there was some truth to Perry’s remark. Miley Cyrus responded as such.
Making an obvious reference to Perry’s ex John Mayer, Cyrus Tweeted, “Girl if ur worried abt where tongues have been good thing ur ex boo is ur EX BOO cause we ALL know where THAT [tongue has] been.”
With an embedded illustration of the kiss, Cyrus added, “Dontchyouuuu act like you didn’t lurvvvvv it.”
