The “Glee” Executive Producers joined FOX Broadcasting and 20th Century FOX in commenting on the tragic passing of Cory Monteith.
“We are deeply saddened by this tragic news,” says the statement. “Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person. He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.”
Monteith, 31, was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room shortly after noon on Saturday. Concerned when Monteith missed his checkout time, staff entered the room and located the star’s body.
The actor, who played Finn Hudson, one of the central male characters on “Glee,” had several people in his room prior to going out Friday evening, but surveillance reveals he returned to his room alone in the early morning hours.
Though the specific cause of death has not yet been revealed, foul play was not suspected.
Headline Planet has devoted ample coverage to “Glee” since its 2009 premiere, and it expresses its deepest sympathy and condolences to Monteith’s family, friends, colleagues and fans.
