Contrary to reports going around, the McMahons are featured prominently on WWE television not simply due to a sudden USA Network request but as part of a major, long-term storyline.
While specifics are unknown, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter says that the involvement–which features frequent RAW and even SmackDown! appearances from Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H–is building to a major angle that will heat up ahead of Summerslam and possibly even form the key WrestleMania 30 storyline.
Vince McMahon is notorious for frequently requesting re-writes ahead of the weekly RAW broadcasts, but inside sources say no such last-minute changes have taken WWE off this main storyline course, which features some level of McMahon involvement through next year’s “Super Bowl of Wrestling.”
Plans can always change, but WWE definitely has a McMahon-centric vision for next year’s WrestleMania, one that is better-formed than typical for a long-term storyline plan. In terms of knowing where it wants to go for next year’s ‘Mania, sources say it would normally take WWE until November or December to be as far along in the planning as it is right now.
