“The Voice Eliminates” Josiah Hawley, Kris Thomas; Teams Adam & Blake Intact

iTunes is only one element of “The Voice”‘s voting process, but it turned out to be a perfect indicator of this week’s results.

Josiah Hawley and Kris Thomas, whose respective renditions of “Clocks” and “Adorn” were the Top 10’s least-downloaded songs, were forced to wave goodbye to television’s top-rated reality singing competition Tuesday.

After requiring his coach’s save to inch into the Top 12, Hawley impressed his doubters with a strong rendition of “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” last week. Unfortunately, the good-looking Team Usher member halted that newfound momentum with a rough version of Coldplay’s “Clocks” on this week’s performance show, and the result was an elimination from the competition.

Thomas, a Team Shakira member, had never been a coach or media favorite ahead of this week, but that lack of critical support had not at all halted his progress–he eased through the Top 16 show and again advanced in last week’s Top 12 results show. But this week’s (legdrop free!) “Adorn” performance evidently failed to resonate with fans as well; in addition to being the least-downloaded “Voice” track on iTunes, it also resulted in his departure from the show.

After suffering individual eliminations in two consecutive weeks, Teams Usher and Shakira are down to one contestant each–Michelle Chamuel and Sasha Allen, respectively. The top 12 iterations of Teams Blake (Danielle Bradbery, The Swon Brothers, Holly Tucker) and Adam (Judith Hill, Amber Carrington, Sarah Simmons) remain intact.
