For a bit character, Fandango’s brunette dancer–unidentified on WWE’s broadcasts–has gained quite the cult following.
Perhaps due to her dancing ability (but probably due to her looks), the dancer is a favorite on wrestling message boards and social networks, and there was disappointment when WWE replaced her with NXT Diva Summer Rae. While Rae is good-looking in her own right and an actual pro wrestling trainee in WWE’s developmental territory, her dancing ability and chemistry with Fandango seemed to pale in comparison to the role’s original occupant.
After a few weeks on the sidelines, the original dancer returned to accompany Fandango to the ring Monday night. WWE did not draw too much attention to the change, but it was noticed by wrestling fans and reporters.
No explanation was provided for Summer Rae’s absence, and the blonde diva, in fact, implied earlier Monday that she was going to appear on RAW. “Almost time for #RAW here in Roanoke! #WWE,” Tweeted Summer.
She also Tweeted a similar note regarding SmackDown, confirming, “I’m coming home! Headed to Raleigh, NC for #Smackdown tomorrow! #WWE.”
What led to her benching Monday remains to be seen, but based on her Tweet, it would be premature to conclude the change is permanent.
