The move to a new timeslot and introduction of a new leading man in Ted Danson did not drastically change the ratings fortune of “CSI,” which performed as it often did in its old Thursday night timeslot.
The show made its season premiere Wednesday, delivering a 3.1 adults 18-49 rating with 12.6 million viewers in the 10PM hour. It lost slightly in the demo to new entry “Revenge,” which premiere to a 3.4 and 10.2 million.
Both, however, took some steam out of retooled “Law & Order: SVU,” which was the timeslot’s clear third place finisher at a 2.3 and 7.6 million.
Not helpful for “SVU” was its “Harry’s Law” lead-in. The move to the very competitive Wednesday at 9PM timeslot put the hurt on the quirky legal drama, which opened to a barely-there 1.2 adults 18-49 rating and 7.3 million viewers. “Harry’s” is simply not going to be a hit with young adults.
Earlier in the night, NBC offered “Up All Night” (down to a 2.3 with 6.0 million) and sure-to-be-cancelled “Free Agents” (1.3, 3.9 million).
