“Glee” has a lot to prove later this month. Emmy nominations aside, season two was far from a winner with critics, and declining ratings reveal a similar reaction from viewers.
Season three could represent a turning point for the show–if it catches early fire, it could assure “Glee” remains at the forefront of pop culture. But if it succumbs to more of the season two traps, it could support cynical predictions that the once-dominant FOX series was a short-term, overhyped fad.
“Glee”‘s next step begins Tuesday, September 20–FOX has provided the first episodic and gallery photos to hype the return.
