Colin Firth, Paul Giamatti Win Lead Actor Golden Globe Awards

Colin Firth’s performance in “The King’s Speech” has been all the rage this year, and he predictably scored the best actor in a dramatic motion picture award at the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards.

Though “The Social Network” has been making waves at the awards ceremony, Jesse Eisenberg’s leading performance in the film was not enough to overcome Firth’s dominance.

Other nominees in that category were James Franco, Ryan Gosling and Mark Wahlberg.

The comedy/musical version of the award went to Paul Giamatti for “Barney’s Version.” The well-respected actor overcame two instances of Johnny Depp (for “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Tourist”), Jake Gyllenhaal and Kevin Spacey for the win.
