“Family Guy” Special, “Desperate Housewives” Lead Sunday Ratings

The special 150th edition of “Family Guy” was off from its season highs but still successful in the ratings Sunday.

The hourlong episode ranked second to “Desperate Housewives” (12.02 million viewers, 3.7 adults 18-49 rating) with a 3.5 rating and 7.33 million viewers.

To the FOX comedy’s credit, the second half hour, much of which featured musical numbers (two of which had been aired previously), held the average down with a 3.3 rating–the first half hour (which featured all but the overrun of the actual ‘episode’) actually tied “Housewives” at a 3.7.

Elsewhere, FOX’s “Til Death” was a non-factor with a 0.7 and 1.95 million viewers; “The Simpsons” posted a 2.7 with 6.06 million and “The Cleveland Show” was good for a 2.6 with 5.74 million watchers.

ABC’s lineup also included “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (6.64 million, 1.7), “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” (8.63 million, 2.4) and “Brothers & Sisters” (8.63 million, 2.5).

In addition to its Conan-centric episode of “60 Minutes” (13.33 million, 2.2), CBS also aired “The Amazing Race” (10.4 million, 3.0) and two hours of “Cold Case” (9.63 million, 2.0 and 10.07 million, 2.2).

NBC aired “Dateline” (5.17 million, 1.1), “Minute to Win It” (5.64 million, 1.9) and “Celebrity Apprentice” (6.99 million, 2.6).
