TNA Announces the End of Monday Night iMPACT!

TNA and Spike TV confirmed Monday that the promotion’s weekly iMPACT! program will return to the Thursday night time slot, effective May 13.

iMPACT! will revert to its 9PM timeslot on Thursdays, welcoming the new ReAction series into the 8PM hour come June 24.

“The fans have spoken and with their input we have determined the best timeslot to maximize the TNA audience is on Thursday nights where we are confident it will be among the most-watched shows with young men,” said Spike TV’s Brian Diamond.

While there was some internal hope that TNA would remain on Monday for a few more weeks, it became clear last week that the show simply was not ready to succeed on the same night as WWE RAW. In addition to posting a series low rating Monday, the iMPACT! episode actually drew more viewers for its Thursday encore telecast, revealing the extent to which the brand was getting overlooked on Mondays.

  1. what a great fall back for tna. i think tna management is responsible for this. to quit from monday night, is the worst thing for any wrestling company. wwe once again prove that no one can beat them in monday nights. now the whole wrestling world will know that wwe is the best in the world.
