It is never a surprise when “Family Guy” draws complaints for its content. From frank exploration of sex and violence to pull-no-punches racial humor, “Guy” offers much ammunition for television watchdogs.
Sometimes, however, the scenes that fuel outcry are surpising. Such is the case with this weekend’s episode–the Parents Television Council has filed an indecency complaint in response to a scene in which Mr. Pewderschmidt receives a lap dance at a strip club. While edgy compared to many television programs, the scene is far from notable when it comes to “Family Guy”‘s history of pushing the envelope.
“Apparently Fox must believe that because the program is animated it can air anything it wants on Family Guy no matter how inappropriate or indecent,” said Tim Winter, PTC.
He added, “Families who watch television together on Sunday night shouldn’t be bombarded by content like this that would be more appropriate for the Playboy Channel.”
f*** Tim Winter…Hey JAGOFF…it’s a f***ing cartoon !!! I guess you can’t determine the difference between cartoons and reality….you are a Nazi and should go F yourself
Without watchdog groups like PTC, it would be ANYTHING GOES with these “artists.” To protect children watching free network television, offensive shows like this should not be on earlier than 10pm (or they should be on pay-TV) Public airwaves need to clean up their act.
I agree doot juice re: Nazi/censorship reference. It is an ADULT CARTOON with PARENTAL WARNINGS prior to the opening! JT…. PUT DOWN YOUR JESUS JUICE and BE AWARE of what your children are watching!
Get a life people!!! And worry about the important things going on in the world!!
JT… GET REAL and look in the mirror!!!!!!!!!!!! Jesus Christ! Oh yeah, Have a Nice Holiday Season!
to be perfetly honest, the easiest way to prevent people from watching something they don’t want to is to switch channel or turn the t.v off. family guy is famous for its politically incorrect gaffs and people know this. it the peoples choice to watch it and only they are to blame.
Family Guy is not my thing as I find the show vulgar and stupid. So if a stripper can’t stand to watch FG why are parents complaining about the shows indecency? What time is this show on? Definitely not a kids cartoon.
Fox news is promoting strip clubs for couples to spice up their sex life. Is this a family thing or no?
Here’s a tip for anyone who’s offended by Family Guy. There’s a little button on the controller that says Chan UP and Chan DOWN. Try pressing them next time. There’s over 1000 channels on digital cable, why are you sticking with one?
Once again, the moral minority are trying to tell the rest of us what we can and cannot watch. If you find shows like Family Guy offensive, why do you watch it? More importantly, why are your children watching it? How dare you to attempt to speak for me. If you don’t like it then don’t watch it. I personally like Family Guy. I challenges us to look at our society with objectivity.
